Jarod Coffey was educated at the University of Iowa where he earned his Bachelor Science in Psychology and Master of Social Work degrees. Jarod has earned the distinction of Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. Jarod has extensive experience working with youth, adults, and families to address behavioral needs. He has specialized training in Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques.
For the past several years, Jarod has worked in the substance abuse field providing group and individual work to individuals with substance misuse issues. Jarod is particularly interested in making the therapy process a pleasant experience which builds upon the existing strengths and assets of the individual to make changes which will facilitate a more rewarding life for the participant.
An area of particular interest to Jarod is providing behavioral health in primary care settings, which is in line with the most recent research in the emerging field of Integrated Care. In addition to these responsibilities, Jarod facilitates a SMART Recovery group and sees individuals, families, and groups for therapy.
