Michael Stewart, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist who specializes in using cognitive-behavioral treatments for mood & anxiety disorders, anger/aggression, behavioral medicine, and couples therapy. He completed his B.S., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees at Vanderbilt University. He completed a clinical internship at the University of Chicago Medical Center and a clinical post-doctoral fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center. He is available to see clients at the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Center on Saturdays (9am-6pm).
Dr. Stewart is concurrently a clinical psychologist at the Charles George Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He is the Evidence-Based Psychotherapy Coordinator, which entails promoting, implementing, and providing training in evidence-based treatments for mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders in the Mental Health Clinic. He also serves as the Smoking Cessation Program Coordinator, providing treatment and training in smoking cessation. He is licensed in the state of North Carolina.
